Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about cycling’s places, practices, cultures and histories. Send proposals through the Contact page, with a clear subject and a reason it will interest our readers.
What we are looking for
Strong proposals have a distinct angle and a defined scope. They might explain a cycling custom, make a useful comparison, trace a change over time or help readers notice something about routes and journeys. We favour evergreen ideas that do not depend on unsupported claims or specialist advice.
What to include
Describe the central question, the main point you hope to make, the material or sources you would use, and why the subject suits Global Cycling Journal. A brief outline is welcome. Please note any relevant limitations, including whether the idea depends on local rules, access or firsthand reporting.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please do not send a complete article unless requested. We consider submissions for clarity, originality, accuracy and fit.
A ride is also a way of seeing
Cycling changes how distance, place and pace feel. We pay attention to those details, without treating every ride as the same.
